40mm axle for 4 cycle would still be the same rule for 2012..no changes were made there..most of us 4 cycle racers use 1 1/4 axles..i think 40mm is the same as WKA

This is a rule that clearly needs changed before someone goes and spends big money to swap down to a 40mm axle.
Its a rule that I addressed 2 seasons ago and was told it would be brought current. It obviously isnt being enforced as multiple karts ran last season with 50mm axles....

ALL YOU HAVE TO CHANGE IS AXLE, AXLE BEARINGS, WHEEL HUBS, GEAR HUB, BRAKE HUB, & MAYBE GET A SPARE AXLE. THEN YOU ARE WKA LEGAL. WHATS THE PROBLEM?

I have a ton of 40mm parts for sale if you need some since every one quit my class. It's only money and you will save so much out running the 220 class slow but you will save !

I WOULD LIKE TO SEE CLONE STAY AN INEXPENSIVE CLASS. THAT IS WHAT CLONE WAS WHEN STARTED. CHANGING RULES ON MONEY SPENT ON ENGINES, WILL HAVE A BAD OUTCOME. IF I KNEW THERE WAS AN ADVANTAGE OF HAVING A 50MM AXLE OVER A 40MM OR 1 1/4, THEN YOU SHOULDN'T BE ABLE TO RUN IT. IF NO ADVATAGE, WHATS THE DIFFEERENCE ? THIS IS ONLY MY OPINON.

Another question for the rules committee: Why is the Bridgestone YLC tire still not allowed? I could see it not being allowed in 2011 due to distribution issues but there are plenty of the YLCs out there now, both new and used. What's the deal?

Check out the discussion about the YLC from last year. Basically the YLC is too soft. sirakarting.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=56

Too soft? You've got to be kidding me! Too soft in relation to the other tires allowed in the classes. Bridgestone doesn't advertise the shore hardness but the YLC is consideralby softer than the YKC (some say 8 to 10 points) and the YKC was approved and was similar in performance to the other approved tires. The YLC is superior in performance to most spec tires and would be an unfair advantage over the other tires.

As of 02/18 Rule stands..Stock cast iron flywheel is OK for all of 2012 and if/when the new STEEL flywheel get here from China..it will be allowed as an option....NO Aluminum flywheels at this time..we will revisit the aluminum possibilities for 2013
