I've noticed that there has been alot of people asking about why we don't have a forums section, so I talked with some people and came up with what we have here.
In this section I would like to ask all new users to introduce themselves, who you are, what you race, etc etc.
Anyways, thanks for taking a look and if you are interested in being a moderator for the forums (directors only) let me know and I'll get you hooked up.
Also a little incentive for everyone; You may notice that under your username is a set of stars and a ranking. Well the more posts you have the higher your ranking/stars get. I'm not going to give any specific numbers but you should notice them once we get the ball rolling.

Hi,
My name is John Matthews and I run Heartbeat Power Products, LLC. AKA Heartbeat Racing. I build all types of kart engines and hopefully this year I'll be able to build a few of our chassis too.
Racing wise, I started in karts back in 1977 running with Invader out in California. I took a long break but got back into racing with SCCA in 1995. In 2003 I started TMS Racing in Arizona where my drivers won multiple local championships in TaG, Sportsman, and Easykart. I get to race myself once or twice a year if I'm lucky. Since moving to Elk Rapids, Michigan in 2009 I haven't even been in a kart but hopefully that will change this year. My daughter told me she wants another kart so now I've got a good reason to build her one, and maybe one for me too....
I'm really looking forward to getting some of my open motors out on a sprint track, dirt oval is OK but I'm a sprint guy at heart. I'm glad someone is doing it and within driving distance from my home too.
Thanks,
John

Thanks, John Hey there, nice to have some input from someone who doesn't race with us often, and seeing as how I run in the Open 4Stroke class, I'd love to see some new faces! Especially that class, its hard enough to get someone to buy a blueprinted animal, let alone build an open. Anyways, check out our site and our rulebook and see what you can come up with. I look forward to getting to race with you.

Would it be possible to advertise our events in the NKN? I know we look often to try and see local events, "street races". Seems to me even if it cost a little, it would be worth it. There is alot of times we talk to racers that don't know street racing still exsist...

I look forward to getting to race with you. Yes, more folks should try open racing. It's popular with the dirt oval crowd, and back in the day it drew everyone to the fence whenever the opens fired up. It has the sizzle that's been lacking in kart racing for a long time. I'm trying to put together a 2 cycle effort for the Rock Island Grand Prix this year but will need to do some chassis testing beforehand so your series might just be the ticket. Mostly I hang out on ekartingnews.com (john matthews) and 4cycle.com (johnnyt). I'll try to check this board as often as I can but you can call me at the shop 231-264-8707 anytime. Thanks, John

I raced many times with SIRA in the 80's and 90's with Yamaha's mostly. Hope to get up to some of your shows this year with a Tag. I am also promoting some races here in Tenn this summer. You can find out about our races at sekakarting.proboards.com/index.cgi We will make every effort to have classes for all to run in. We do all one day shows and the track is about an hour south of Nashville. Hope some of you can make it down!

Hey Womack:
I want to try and make it down there to run with you guys sometime, but you're cooking dinner! For anyone that doesn't know David, his "Facebook menu pictures" look like a 5-star restaurant's menu.
Also, you better come up here some -I've got a Yamaha you can run or I'll put a TAG on to run with you sometime buddy... Good to see you on here & talk to you soon!
